If you are running MultiFinder and large desk accessories, you may from time to time find that you don’t have enough memory to run the DA. One thing that sometimes helps is to set the Multifinder partition size for DA Handler to more than its default 16,000 bytes.
This is easy to do with ResEdit (change the SIZE resource). However, if you don’t have ResEdit and don’t want to download it, DA Handler Resizer may help. It does one thing and one thing only: lets you change the partition size for DA Handler. It works only if (a) you have DA Handler in your System Folder and (b) you aren’t currently running any desk accessories.
For safety, I’d advise that you first make a copy of DA Handler and put it somewhere safe (if something goes wrong, rename the copy “DA Handler” and put it back in your System Folder). Then run DA Handler Resizer, and follow the prompts. I generally use a partition size of about 96,000 bytes.
